“One of my favourite places is a big park near my house. Every time I pass by that park, I see the large green fields, and I feel happy to live here. It is very spacious and refreshing. I like seeing all the birds, ducks and swans by the water, and a flock of geese crossing the sky… Next to the park, there are many cherry trees stretching all alongside the two-km-long bike lane.
“I enjoy pink cherry blossoms like a tunnel in the Spring, and in the Autumn, the leaves turn red. It is such a pleasure to see the change of seasons. I appreciate the cherry blossom not only because it reminds me of Japan, but also because it brings back a lot of dear memories, and gives a nostalgic feeling. For me, observing the four seasons and the change in nature is very important. It helps me keep track of time, looking at the past and imagining the future. I have a lot of memories associated with the seasons.
“I take photos of my daughter with cherry blossoms every year. Soon she will start at the school next to the park. I feel that this place is not only a part of my daily life but also becoming a part of my memories based on this neighbourhood.”
