JACCU is looking for a Financial Administrator

JACCU, the Stichting Japanese Art & Culture Centre of Utrecht is a young NPO based in Utrecht. Our mission is to disseminate Japanese art and culture in the broadest sense, enrich the cultural scene of Utrecht and the Netherlands with an appealing spectrum of cultural activities and artistically significant projects.

There are many ambitious people working in JACCU team voluntarily, and together with fellow Utrecht residents and Japanese organisations, we are building a community to create a central hub for gathering, practising, continuous learning, making art, sharing and gaining knowledge and experience. We welcome professionals, amateurs and enthusiasts, as well as anyone open to learning and appreciating the treasures and values of Japanese culture; everyone who is Japanese or non-Japanese, young and old alike.

Financial Administrator (0,05- 0,1 FTE)

JACCU is looking for a Financial Administrator to start immediately. As a financial administrator, you will be responsible for both operational accounting tasks as well as (project) budgeting, reporting and filing taxes. Furthermore, you will primarily help us develop and grow as a financially healthy organisation.

You are living in the Netherlands, you are knowledgeable about financial aspects of cultural activities. You will work hand in hand with the director and the treasurer of the foundation. You will assist the board in creating budgets and explanations for the organisation and projects, maintain the documentation and administration between the partners and tax authorities.

Requirements:

  • Native level Dutch language and excellent command of the English language
  • Hands-on experience with accounting and tax administration
  • Responsibility for handling the documents of a non-profit organisation with liability and discretion
  • Proactive attitude, problem-solver
  • Team spirit, attention to detail

Responsibilities:

  • Creating, maintaining and reviewing annual and project budgets together with the treasurer
  • Preparing the annual accounts, multi-year budgets in consultation with the board
  • Receiving and sending invoices, payments and reimbursements
  • Taking care of quarterly and yearly tax declarations
  • Document management and administration

JACCU, the Stichting Japanese Art & Culture Centre of Utrecht is a young cultural initiative in Utrecht. You will work with a close-knit group of Japan enthusiasts from versatile backgrounds. There are 15 people working in JACCU voluntarily, and we would like to improve our financial reliability with a professional team. Our aim is to grow into a big culture house with a good reputation in the Netherlands, Europe and Japan.

We are offering a volunteer position in this fresh initiative where you can contribute to inspiring artistic projects and interesting cultural events. We are expecting you to invest 2 to 4 hours a week for this initiative to make it grow into the biggest Japanese art and culture centre of Europe!
